Is it worth fixing?
A question I face almost daily is when someone brings a computer in for cleaning or fixing to make it run better or faster, I have to mention that if I have to spend 4 to 5 hours the computer would have to be very important because you could probably get a new one cheaper. Then I could take their data off the old one and put it on the new one and only charge 1 hour.
Of course if you have to use a program that will only work on the older computer then it is another matter.
I found that you have to be honest with people with regards to cost because everyone is pinching pennies these days.
